Marcia KellyWhy did you choose to volunteer at Bread for Life?
I chose BFL because visiting my aunt in NY growing up I saw the homeless sleeping on the street and begging for something to eat. It was something I didn’t see living in New Britain. So this is my way of helping the people back then and now.

What has been the best part of your volunteer experience?
The best part: besides knowing that you are helping someone, is the friendship I have with the other volunteers.

What is your favorite memory from volunteering at Bread for Life?
Before covid we served dinner at senior housing and we helped decorate the fellowship hall for Christmas.

How has volunteering impacted your life?
I have always been grateful for what I have or receive but more so now knowing that some people have none.

What would you say to someone who is thinking about volunteering?
It’s the best thing you can do, knowing that you are helping someone.
